EASY Frilled Bonnet (0-12 months)

Materials:
3mm needles.
2.5mm needles.
Aprox. 100gr cotton or yarn for 2,5/3mm needles
Lots of love and patience. 💪🏻💞

Start by casting on the amount of stitches acording to the size you are knitting:
(ALL THESE SIZES ARE APPROXIMATE)
Newborn -> 72 stitches
1-3 months -> 77 stitches
3-6 months -> 82 stitches
6-9 months -> 87 stitches
9-12 months -> 92 stitches
12 - 18 months -> 97 stitches

Knit in garter stitch during:
Newborn -> 8 cm
1-3 months -> 9,5 cm
3-6 months -> 10,5 cm
6-9 months -> 11 cm
9-12 months -> 12 cm
12-18 months-> 13 cm

Now it is time to divide your work into 3 sections as I explain in the video (LINK HERE) and decrease at either side until we only have our centre stitches remaining and we shall cast these off.

Its pretty much a no-sew bonnet so now it is time to pick up stitches all the way around the bottom in order to create the neckband and then in is completely optional if you decide to do a buttonband, add a ribbon or knit an i-cord to fasten your bonnet.

Frill:
Pick up stitches on the front of our work all the way round the front of the bonnet (we have to pick up a multiple of 3+2sts, as I explain in the video) and then we follow the sequence bellow:
1. Knit all stitches (this is the pick up row).
2. *K2, P1* K2
3. *P2, Y.O, K1, Y.O* P2
4. *K2, P3 (as I explain in the video to avoid creating a hole)* K2
5. *P2, Y.O, K3, Y.O* P2
6. *K2, P5* K2
7. *P2, Y.O, K5* P2
8. *K2, P7* K2
9. Knit all.
10. Cast off knitwise.

And voila, you are done.
I would love you to share your finished product with me if you were to knit it, DM me it on Instagram www.instagram.com/peekabooknitting 😉
